Amapolay is a graphic artist collective with 13 years of experience, based in the city of Lima. As a self-taught collective in the discipline of visual arts and printmaking, they’ve managed to develop a graphic language, with their own identity and style, that encapsulates elements of Peruvian and Latin American popular culture, powerfully combining them through clear and direct message.

Throughout their time in existence, they’ve been able to establish screen printing as their trade and signature technique, making works of art and developing a textile line that has allowed them to become self-sustaining to support the many activities that the group carries out. The development of their own brand has allowed both the self-sustainability and independence of the collective as well as allowing them the possibility of developing collaborations that contribute to change in their community. In this manner, they continue to use poster and graphic design as communication and propaganda tools in the broadest sense of the word.

Amapolay has collaborated with diverse groups, cultural spaces, institutions, artists and galleries around the world, creating their own label that is recognized and valued for its aesthetic and political contributions.
